SEO job in Sydney: Trainee Account Manager
This is an exciting new opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual who wants to start a career in search engine marketing. Due to continued business growth, Web Marketing Workshop Pty Ltd is looking to recruit and train a Trainee Account Manager who will be responsible for implementing a variety of online marketing campaigns for business websites, with a particular focus on search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaigns.
This position offers excellent opportunities to develop sought-after skills and experience in the fast-growing search engine marketing sector. The Account Manager position will cover a wide range of responsibilities, including the planning and implementation of:
- search engine optimisation work for client websites, including the identification of target search terms, writing metatags and page content, producing optimised web pages, tracking indexing by search engines and providing monthly reports on progress to clients
- pay-per-click advertising campaigns, including account planning and creation, the regular monitoring of positions and spend, analysis of effectiveness, adjusting campaigns based on results and preparing monthly reports for clients
- link building campaigns, including the research of potential link sites and submitting details of client sites for possible links, plus regular tracking and reporting on progress
- additional online marketing activity for clients, as required, including the analysis of website statistics, the development of website effectiveness, generating e-mail marketing campaigns, setting up and maintaining affiliate programs, plus online PR and other web advertising activities.
In addition, the role will entail:
- responding to new business enquiries by telephone or e-mail, including the preparation and costing of business proposals
- researching and developing new client opportunities as appropriate
- keeping track of online marketing techniques and developments
- to work as part of the marketing teams in Australia and the UK to share information, identify new business opportunities and develop skills to offer the best possible service to all clients
- to work closely with business partners, whenever appropriate, to develop ongoing business relationships to the benefit of both parties.
This is a full time position requiring a minimum of 35 hours a week. There is a competitive starting salary offered which will be reviewed after 6 months and then annually thereafter, plus Super contributions and a profit sharing scheme.
The suitable candidate will ideally display the following attributes:
- an enthusiasm to develop a career in marketing, with a willingness to learn and an ambition to succeed
- although some awareness or experience in marketing is preferred, this is not essential as training will be given
- the candidate must be an experienced computer and Internet user, with the confidence to use different or new computer programs
- a working knowledge of HTML code would be preferable
- an ability for problem solving and for thinking logically to develop the best outcome to potential obstacles
- the candidate must be well organised and able to cope with a variety of different tasks and priorities
- a close attention to detail is essential, from writing e-mails to preparing detailed client reports, in order to present the best possible image of the business
- good communication skills, plus confidence and integrity when dealing with clients, external suppliers or other team members.
The Web Marketing Workshop / Web Search Workshop is an established search engine marketing company, having traded in the UK since 2000 and in Australia since 2006, with over 100 current clients.
